Not sure about you, but I had a weekend filled with music and culture. Let me just start off by saying that the Kings Theater in Brooklyn is so much more than a theater. From the moment you walk in the door, you’re surrounded by nothing but beautiful African art. You can’t imagine how excited I was to be sitting four rows from the stage where Ms. Lauryn Hill and Trinidad-based soca artist Machel Montano were bringing down the house. If you know anything about Machel Montano, then you know that his music is crazy and the level of energy pretty much makes everyone jump up out of their chair. Ms. Lauryn Hill as always showed up and showed out with African dancers and hypnotized us with her magical voice. It was definitely a night I won’t soon forget.
