4 Fabulous Tips for My Petite Dolls

IMG_1957

Hey Dolls,

Not sure about you, but being only 4’10” can come with some fashion challenges. Let’s just start with the fact that I have become the queen of having things tailored. And to add another twist to my situation, I have a small waist and fuller bottom, which is both a curse and a gift at the same time, lol! So here’s a list of my four fabulous tips for my Petite Dolls…

  1. Keep garments simple and uncluttered with prints that are small to medium in scale.  Large patterns will swamp your frame.  Keep the scale of your garments in proportion to your height and weight.
  2. Aim to look sleek and slim, and always try to avoid too much fabric. No waterfall cardigans or jackets – they will just overwhelm you.  Also watch gathers, pleats and volume.
  3. When it comes to shoes, if you’re like me and on the curvy side, I suggest 3-4 inch heels. And as much as I love high boots, they can make us look shorter, so stick to ankle boots.
  4. You know I am all about dresses! Keep your hemlines to either above or at the knee, and fit no babydoll fit dresses!
