The Corona Quarantine Experience

This whole Corona quarantine experience has brought me a sense of enlightenment. It has really taught me to only make moves out of the flow not out of fear.

I’ve been spending my time meditating, long taking hot baths, and I’ve also opened up to some totally new experiences such as Kundalini Yoga, which is hosted by the beautiful, smart, soft, and sensual Siri.

I’ve also decided to further my doula education by becoming a holistic and fertility doula with the National Black Doulas Association. To be completely honest, I’ve always felt very drawn to working with postpartum and infertility. Mainly because it’s still very new for black women to accept or receive help without feeling “less than.” Many of us are still trying to be superwoman.

I still remember overhearing people say things like, “You got a nanny? You might think you’re white.” Unfortunately, these ideas come from a different generation. We need to focus on breaking the cycle and supporting mothers regardless of whether the father is in the picture.

When it comes to infertility, I remember that whole process and how much pain and loneliness I felt. Unfortunately, we don’t educate young girls and women about the importance of eating healthy and taking care of the body when it comes to conceiving. So, I look forward to supporting my community about not only how to conceive a baby but also how to better self-care.

Please feel free to inbox with any questions or concerns. In the meantime here are a few things you should know.

  1. Kundalini Yoga is a magical science that uses sound, mantra, energy healing, exercises, and meditations to release trauma from the energetic body, which surrounds the physical body. Kundalini Yoga helps us recognize that abundance is our birthright and living from our hearts is the surest path to prosperity.
  2. A Holistic and Fertility Doula focuses on nutrition, life stress factors, ovulation, infertility, sex, decongesting the womb, working & healing through uterine (womb) trauma.
