The independent women

super
I got an early morning phone call from a friend I hadn’t heard from in a while.
She was super excited about just starting to workout but was complaining about being restless. She also mentioned how she hadn’t met anyone new when it came to dating, I explained to her that she would meet someone. She replied, “I’m not worried about it at all. I don’t mind being single.”
But I could hear in her voice, the forlornness of a person who missed being in a relationship. So my question is: Why do we feel the need to pretend that we don’t want to be in a relationship? What is bad about wanting to have someone to share your life with?
